After a long wait, Sunshine Coast based alternative rock band Interism are dropping their new album Avondale St

Opening with the explosive track, “Take A Bow” – Interism aren’t wasting any time getting the party started.  The track employs a fast verse, slow chorus style and some filtered vocals which immediately grabs the listeners ear and gets them ready to digest the full album.  We then move into the slower and cleaner “World on Fire” which uses melodic clean guitar and soft vocals on top of some groovy drums and bass to build up for the massive chorus.

Avondale St also features the bands recent single Lately which they’ve just dropped in the form of a music video.  The track is a very mellow and riff driven ballad which brings to light Interism’s diversity as a band.

Interism closes out the album with Leaving, a bass-heavy song which shows off the band’s punk influence with the fast paced drums and with the repeated line “I’m leaving.  Fuck you.” – Avondale St is a ride through the motions, starting and ending explosively with plenty of rise and fall along the way.  Fans of Foo Fighters, Deftones and a bit of Counting Crows here and there will not be disappointed.

The band will be playing their next show tonight at Parkwood Tavern on the Gold Coast and suffice to say you’d be doing yourself a disservice by missing them when they’re near you.
